Veruccas'
Verucca treatment with Verrutop
Verrutop is a topical professional treatment for warts and verrucas, designed to be quick, painless, and highly effective.

What to expect from your appointment.
Basic medical history taken (initial appointment)
Monofilament sensory Test/Pulses checked (initial appointment)
Cut and file nails to a comfortable length
Removal of hard skin and callus
Thickened nail reduction (if required)
Corn removal (if required)
Relaxing foot massage with appropriate foot cream
Advice and guidance as required
Please note
All nail polish and gel nails to be removed prior to an appointment. This is necessary as I need to be able to assess the nail under the polish and to minimise the risk of infection.
To maintain healthy feet, it is advisable to have a routine foot health treatment every 6-8 weeks.
There may be times when I feel that I cannot help, (for example if an ingrown toenail has become infected) in this case I will refer you to either your GP or a Podiatrist.
Verrutop
Benefits of Verrutop® verruca treatment:
Verrutop® is an advanced treatment designed to target verrucas quickly and safely therefore making it an excellent choice for those seeking effective foot care. Unlike Cryotherapy or other chemical treatments, Verrutop does not act by freezing or burning the tissue, ensuring a gentler approach. It is suitable for both adults and children aged 6 years and older, making it a versatile option in foot health services. No dressings are required, and following application, it does not interfere with your daily routine.
How it Works:
- NitriZinc Complex: A blend of nitric acid, organic acids, zinc, and copper salts.
- Mechanism: It creates a redox reaction, denaturing viral proteins and desiccating the wart tissue.
- Result: The verruca dries up, shrinks, changes colour (white, yellow, or black), and peels away, revealing normal skin.
Who Can Use It:
- Suitable for ages 6+; not for pregnant/breastfeeding women, diabetics, or those with inflamed skin/mucous membranes.
- Requires professional application by a foot health practitioner or a podiatrist.
What to Expect:
- Application: Normally painless, though a slight stinging may occur.
- Process: A few applications (3-6) at two week intervals (depending on the size/duration/location of the verruca).
- Aftercare: Dabbing surgical spirit daily between sessions to aid drying.
- Outcome: Verruca detach, leaving intact skin.
Key Benefits:
- Painless: Unlike freezing or burning treatments.
- Effective: Highly effective for difficult warts.
- Safe: Leaves healthy skin intact, no open wounds.
The Research:
A study involving 200 patients with 766 verrucae demonstrated an 89.3% clearance rate within 6 treatment sessions.
